Treasure and ponder in my heart...

"But Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart."
"But his mother treasured all these things in her heart."

The Lord is teaching something, to never let events, incidences, or anything that happens in my life to slip away. To aways think about what God is teaching, showing, or guiding me through things. It's important to take the time to reflect and draw near to God.

Mary, the mother of Jesus, is a great example of this:

Luke 2: 8-19

Shepherds & Angels

And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. But the angel said to them, "Do not be afraid. I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord. This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger."
Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying, "Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to men on whom his favor rests."
When the angels had left them and gone into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, "Let's go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about."
So they hurried off and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby, who was lying in the manger. When they had seen him, they spread the word concerning what had been told them about this child, nd all who heard it were amazed at what the shepherds said to them. But Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart.

Luke 2: 41-51

The Boy Jesus at the Temple.

Every year his parents went to Jerusalem for the Feast of the Passover. When he was twelve years old, they went up to the Feast, according to the custom. After the Feast was over, while his parents were returning home, the boy Jesus stayed behind in Jerusalem, but they were unaware of it. Thinking he was in their company, they traveled on for a day. Then they began looking for him among their relatives and friends. When they did not find him, they went back to Jerusalem to look for him. After three days they found him in the temple courts, sitting among the teachers, listening to them and asking them questions. Everyone who heard him was amazed at his understanding and his answers. When his parents saw him, they were astonished. His mother said to him, "Son, why have you treated us like this? Your father and I have been anxiously searching for you."
"Why were you searching for me?" he asked. "Didn't you know I had to be in my Father's house?" But they did not understand what he was saying to them.
Then he went down to Nazareth with them and was obedient to them. But his mother treasured all these things in her heart.

The Lord has been gracious to me...

The Lord has been gracious to me.
There are many things that I've been praying for some of which are: emotional healing, blessings on my job, girlfriend/wife. I haven't received these yet, or purpose I have, but not in full. I'm not complaining, but I'm just saying I've been praying about these things. But the Lord reminded me of a couple in the bible: Zechariah, and Elizabeth. The bible explains this in Luke 1:

In the time of Herod king of Judea there was a priest named Zechariah, who belonged to the priestly division of Abijah; his wife Elizabeth was also a descendant of Aaron. Both of them were upright in the sight of God, observing all the Lord's commandments and regulations blamelessly. But they had no children, because Elizabeth was barren; and they were both well along in years.

This passion speaks to me because they were found to be faithful, righteous, and walking with God, all their days, even though they did not have what they most wanted, a baby.

The passage goes on to say:

Once when Zechariah's division was on duty and he was serving as priest before God, he was chosen by lot, according to the custom of the priesthood, to go into the temple of the Lord and burn incense. And when the time for the burning of incense came, all the assembled worshipers were praying outside.
Then an angel of the Lord appeared to him, standing at the right side of the altar of incense. When Zechariah saw him, he was startled and was gripped with fear. But the angel said to him: "Do not be afraid, Zechariah; your prayer has been heard. Your wife Elizabeth will bear you a son, and you are to give him the name John. 14He will be a joy and delight to you, and many will rejoice because of his birth, for he will be great in the sight of the Lord. He is never to take wine or other fermented drink, and he will be filled with the Holy Spirit even from birth.[b] Many of the people of Israel will he bring back to the Lord their God. And he will go on before the Lord, in the spirit and power of Elijah, to turn the hearts of the fathers to their children and the disobedient to the wisdom of the righteous—to make ready a people prepared for the Lord."

This passion continues on to say that their prayers have been heard, and now it has been answered. This just shows that God has His perfect timing, and He does hear our prayers. This reminded to be patient, and to keep on praying and waiting, but at the same time, be faithful to Him everyday, and yet not complain to God about anything. Then in His time, He will answer.

I also realized that during the waiting time, I can reflect on God and all that He has done in my life, and I can say "The Lord has been gracious to me." I've been saying this today, and it's in my heart now, and it reminds me that God has been there for me, and watching over me, and God has done so much for me. Surely I can be thankful, surely I can have joy despite my circumstances, surely I can have hope, surely I can praise. That saying, really gives me peace, and comfort.
